“But perhaps there is something else as well, something nebulous, gauze-like through which everything one sees in a dream seems, paradoxically, much clearer. A pond becomes a lake, a breeze becomes a storm, a handful of dust is a desert, a grain of sulphur in the blood is a volcanic inferno. What manner of theatre is it, in which we are at once playwright, actor, stage manager, scene painter and audience?”—W. G. Sebald, The Rings of Saturn (via mythologyofblue)
To Prime Minister Noda:
As citizens across Japan, we are outraged that the overwhelming public outcry against the nuclear restart fell on deaf ears. As a nation, we have not yet found answers to the real causes behind the Fukushima Daiichi meltdowns. Thousands still live as refugees and are unemployed, children are trapped in radiation zones, and fear of radiation has spread across the nation. The only way to ensure another Fukushima disaster never happens again is by phasing out of nuclear power for good. Please do the right thing and take immediate action to stop the nuclear restart.
